The Meddlers formed at the end of '97. The guitar and bass are played by two brothers with a long history of musical understanding. With their father on drums (who's played with numerous top British bands in his time), the musical foundation was set. The band needed a singer. Dougie the bassist came across a young and very talented vocalist at music collage. It wasn't long before Rick was widely talked about in the Manchester scene.

After a few months of gigging several musicians repeatedly appeared at their shows. A talented young guitarist jammed with them one evening and hasn't looked back since. Originally playing 12 string and rythym he eventually introduced the keyboard to the group, leaving Rick to strum the chords
